WORSHIP MINISTRIES

WESLEY SINGERSSONRISE, Sunday Morning, 8:55:  SONRISE is designed to glorify God using contemporary elements of worship, including: Modern arrangements of traditional Church hymns, new forms of music, and an informal liturgy.  Holy Communion is celebrated monthly.

BUILDING ON THE ROCK, Sunday Morning, 11:00:  BUILDING ON THE ROCK is designed to glorify God using traditional elements of worship including: The Lord’s Prayer; an Affirmation of Faith; Congregational and Choral Responses; the morning message grounded in scripture; and regular, monthly celebration of the Lord’s Supper.

VESPERS AT TWILIGHT, Sunday Evening, 6:00:  VESPERS AT TWILIGHT is an informal worship experience designed to glorify God at the close of the day.  It involves congregational singing, special music by individuals and a variety of groups, spirited preaching of God’s Word, and prayer around the altar at the close of worship.

WORSHIP LEADERSHIP

A variety of arts-related ministries designed to enhance and encourage acts of worship. Childcare is always available for regularly scheduled events and also for specially-called events upon request.

WESLEY SINGERS, Thursday, 10:30 A.M.: WESLEY SINGERS is a Senior Adult choir.  Under the direction of Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts, this group is made up of those 55 years of age and up.  They rehearse weekly and lead the congregation in worship once each each month. They are accompanied by Mrs. Johnny Hayes, pianist.  All are invited to participate and those interested should contact Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts.24

SONSHINE, Thursday, 5:00 P.M.:  SONSHINE is a contemporary vocal Praise Team under the direction of Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts. They lead SONRISE, the Church’s contemporary worship service. The Praise Team rehearses and leads worship weekly. All (students and adults) are invited to participate and those interested should contact Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts.

CHANCEL CHOIR, Wednesday, 6:45 P.M.: The CHANCEL CHOIR is a large, traditional, mixed vocal ensemble for youth and adults under the direction of Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts. They lead BUILDING ON THE ROCK, the Church’s traditional worship service. The ensemble rehearses and leads worship weekly. Chancel Choir also prepares and presents seasonal musical events. All (students and adults) are invited to participate and those interested should contact Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts.

EMERGING SPIRITS, Meets as needed: EMERGING SPIRITS is a small vocal ensemble of 9 – 12 women singing three-part arrangements under the direction of Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts. The Ensemble meets throughout the year as called by the Director. Rehearsals are as needed in order to prepare for upcoming events. All women are invited to participate and those interested should contact Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts.

ADULT BELLSADULT HANDBELLS, Sunday, 4:45 P.M.: Adult Handbells is a five-octave English Handbell ensemble of 15 – 18 ringers for adults, ages 9th grade and up. Under the direction of Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts, the Adult Handbells meet from September through May, rehearse weekly and provide special music once each month. All (students and adults) are invited to participate and those interested should contact Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts.

DRAMA TEAM,  Meets as needed: The Drama Team is a dramatic ensemble for all ages. Under the direction of Amy Willoughby, Minister of Worship Arts, they meet throughout the year as called by the Director. Rehearsals are as needed in order to prepare for upcoming events.
